To provide intellectual property opinions and advice in respect of the Technology Innovation Agency projects and programmes.

•Provide input during preparation of the budget in the business unit
•Provide input during the compilation of the monthly report on budget spent for the business unit
Stakeholder Relations Management
•Participate in establishing Cooperative relationship with key legal stakeholders in the organisation and externally
•Provide good Intellectual Property quality services to the stakeholders.
•Engage with industry stakeholders to position the organisation strategically.
•Provide input in the review Standard Operating Procedures of the Legal Business Unit
•Provide input in the preparation of the Annual Business Plan
•Monitor the turnaround times of legal processes closely and provide continuous feedback to all stakeholders on their projects to achieve the results within specified time frames
•Identify root causes of delays in the in the processes and implement measures to address the delays
•Project information accurately using the relevant information management system
•Conduct Intellectual Property assessment of projects to ensure that TIA’s risks in funding innovations are mitigated
•Prepare or review contracts to ensure inclusion of proper intellectual property clauses to ensure that sound legal agreements are signed
•Governance and Compliance
•Participate in the internal and external audit exercise and identify relevant processes to close the findings.
•Ensure compliance with applicable legislation as required.
•Ensure compliance with regards to the implementation of policies and procedures.
•Proactively identify and address internal and external challenges to protect the organisation.
•A Bachelor’ degree in Engineering (preferably Electronic/Electrical) or Bachelor degree in Science (preferably Physics/Mathematics); and a Law degree
•A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the technology innovation transfer arena
•Admission as a Patent Attorney or Admission as an Attorney will be an added advantage
