Specification

Develop and maintain high plant performance standards for the plant and take overall responsibility for all maintenance and operating support procedures which include, but not limited to, maintenance scheduling, plant and major component assessments and tracking, warranty and OEM claims, and asset life evaluation in relation to OEM performance. Required to work with Senior Plant Manager & Plant Accountant to support strategy


Technical Support

Develop and implement technical support procedures and policies that govern and control plant performance.

Define the operating procedures across plant for technical assistance and involvement.


Preventative Maintenance

Develop and implement the technical requirements that for a preventative maintenance.

Scheduling and monitoring of maintenance regimes.

Develop spares, inventory and mechanics standards to enable maintenance.

Seek and investigate value for money across the acquisition and maintenance life cycle of plant.


Condition Assessments & Diagnostic

Coordinate and analysis the wear check and other lead indicators on plant potential for failure.

Provided detailed reports on major component failure.

Implement corrective procedures to eradicate early failure.

Engage with OEM and provide support for warranty claims.


Controls & Reporting

Establish and maintain a comprehensive plant history on each plant item over life.

Report on category, OEM and plant performance.


Field Support

Assist Plant Agents on determining the correct diagnostic.

Work with Plant agents and mechanics to ensure they understand the technical requirements to fulfil preventative maintenance standards.

Assess, investigate, analyse fit for purpose of fleet in operations.

Assess, investigate and analysis GET, buckets and or similar for value for money and optimal performance.


SHE Management

Ensure the equipment meet the Safety standards as required by internal and client regulations and protocols.

Ensure that technical standards cater for Safety requirements.


People Management

Draw up a structure for the staff requirements/duties for technical department.

Ensure that all staff management functions are executed by appropriate roles, across the people management value chain, including recruitment, on and off boarding, time & attendance, development, performance management, labour relations (ensuring appropriate disciplinary action is taken as per policy and delegations), safety & health, employee wellbeing.

Manage direct reports with respect to all people management functions.

Appropriately hold employees and subcontractors accountable for delivery.

Ensure all staff are compliant on safety, training and health requirements.


Asset Management

Analyse and report on motivation on new plant purchases with substantiation.

Investigate and recommend standardisation options and opportunities to drive better overall equipment performance.

Analysis and report on asset life cycle performance


Quality

Develop and implement quality procedures across the plant division.

Maintain records and report on NCR’s.

Develop improvement activities and drive implementation in conjunction with Senior Plant Manager and Site Agents.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Recognised Trade Test Certificate and/or similar qualification is required

B Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or similar) is advantageous


EXPERIENCE

10-15 Years applicable experience will be required
