Introduction
Applications are invited for the above-mentioned position. The position will be based in the Western Cape but will need to travel to Stellenbosch and other areas as and when required. The individual will report to the Head of Business Systems.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: The Head of Quality Assurance: Software Systems will be responsible for all aspects of quality around the SDLC, as well as deployment, adoption, user experience, security, documentation, and training.

Specification
Key Responsibility Areas:
•Creating and maintaining test plans from functional specifications
•Determining correct and complete test strategies
•Developing and executing automated test scripts
•Identify and analyse defects. Log defects and track defect resolution
•Performing root cause analysis of faults
•Maintaining the quality assurance environment
•Building and maintaining containerised staging environments
•Providing estimates and feedback to the business
•Taking ownership of the software quality function throughout the SDLC and production.
•Defining QA policies, procedures, standards, and best practice
•Thought leadership and research, development, and implementation of quality assurance best practices, standards, and methodologies.
•Maintaining and grow your technical knowledge of OSS/BSS systems
Requirements
The successful candidate must have the following experience/skills: -
•Operate logically and systematically

•Be very detail-oriented
•Apply creativity and curiosity to approach software quality from multiple angles
•Exhibit effective communication skills, importantly
•The ability to ask the right questions

•Strong knowledge of test methodologies
•Flexible with the ability to and work under pressure
•At least 10+ Years’ experience in software quality assurance covering all areas of testing
•At least 5+ Years’ experience of testing REST API’s


Qualifications
•A university degree in Computer Science or relevant tertiary qualification is a preference.
•Preference will be given to candidates with an ISTQB certification on an advanced level.
