The overall purpose of the position is to increase access to testing, and generate greater public health impact, as improved integrated specimen referral network aims to bring capacity where it lacks and shorten TAT. Furthermore increase network efficiencies, through the implementation of integrated supporting systems related to sample transportation, results delivery and data management.
•Knowledge and experience in the design, implementation and management of laboratory services
•Basic working knowledge of specimen transport and storage procedures and needs
•Computer skills, including ability to use Word, MS Excel and power point
•Good written and verbal communications skills in English
•Ability to work within a team with tight timelines
•Ability to write reports, analyze, and interpret data
•Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with people of different backgrounds
•Ability to learn mapping programs, including Google maps, as needed
•Project management skills (added advantage)
•Deductive reasoning abilities, problem solving skills, planning ability, coordination and time management skills, analytical skills, good judgement and decision-making ability.
Accredited Diploma or B degree in Biomedical Technology / Science or equivalent qualification (not less than 3 years training course).
Minimum of 4 years' relevant post-graduate experience in a clinical laboratory environment.
Registration with the Health Professionals Council of Namibia.
