Specification | Duties: Communicating with the immediate superior and establishing material and resources necessary against specific work orders, interacting with the Stores and checking allocated components and materials against job cards prior to commencing with loading. Providing guidelines and specific instructions to personnel with respect to the preparation of work site for major/ minor works and setting up of traffic signage. Reading and interpreting drawings/ works orders detailing layout and specifications and draw the material. Marking routes for the running in and laying of cables and positioning of supporting structures (poles) and providing guidance to personnel on specific activities. e.g. cleaning of conductors, binding and strapping, stripping of individual conductors). Interacting with management to discuss operational and professional needs. To ensure requirements are co-ordinated and instructions are communicated and understood to ensure enabling the efficient execution and completion of tasks/ activities. To ensure installation and safety procedures and guidelines are complied with and tasks executed in accordance with standards associated with quality workmanship. To ensure scheduled planned and predictive maintenance cycle and work procedures are complied with, enabling uninterrupted and optimum functionality of the electrical power supply system. Monitor that Contractors adhere to Health and Safety regulations in terms of Municipal By-law, policies, procedures and guidelines. To ensure health and safety compliance to the OHS Act. |

Requirements | Requirements: Trade Tested Electrical Artisan, Code C1 + PrDP Driver’s License, Valid ORHVS Certificate. Certificate of competence in Operating a Mobile Elevating Work platform (WEWP), candidates whose license has expired will be allowed to renew within 6 months. Please attach proof of qualifications. Good personal and communication skills, Supervisory Skills, Attention to detail. Proficient in at least two of the three official languages in the Western Cape. (English, Afrikaans & IsiXhosa) Experience: 2 years relevant experience in an electrical environment. |
