Specification | Duties: Discussing and scheduling priorities (site visits, etc) and clarifying specific requirements for allocation and execution at sites. To ensure requirements are co-ordinated and instructions communicated and understood enabling the efficient execution and completion of tasks/ activities. Reading and interpreting drawings/ works orders detailing layout and specifications and draw the material. Testing, live switching, live phasing, earthing on high voltage equipment. To ensure installation and safety procedures and guidelines are complied with and tasks executed in accordance with standards associated with quality workmanship. Test and maintain electricity networks, electrical protection and metering equipment, standby generators, building electrical, pump stations (electrical switchgear) and mechanical installations. To ensure scheduled planned and predictive maintenance cycle and work procedures are complied with enabling uninterrupted and optimum functionality of the electrical power supply system. To ensure faults are detected and repaired and functionality restored with minimal disruption to services. Providing guidelines and specific instructions to personnel with respect to the storage of materials, equipment and/ or hitching of trailers and checking and correcting any deviations from safety procedures. Engaging controls to operate mechanisms (cherry picker) to facilitate specific sequences (hoisting, overhead repairs and rigging etc.). Operate mounted crane. Leading and guiding staff. Supervise contractors and temporary employees (EPWP) whilst executing duties. To ensure that human resources needs are identified and attended to, supporting the accomplishment of laid down objectives and compliance with specific standards in terms of productivity and performance. To ensure details of activities are accurately recorded to facilitate the processing of information related to productivity, personnel, time and material allocation, network information utilization for specific assignments. Transporting personnel / material and monitoring the off-loading of materials and equipment. To ensure a well-maintained designated vehicle and the accurate capturing of kilometres in accordance with the laid down Procedures, Policies, and guidelines. To ensure health and safety compliance to the OHS Act. |

Requirements | Requirements: Trade Tested Electrical Artisan. Code C1 + PrDP Driver’s License. Valid ORHVS Certificate. Certificate of competence in Operating a Mobile Elevating Work platform (MEWP) Candidates whose license has expired will be allowed to renew within 6 months. Please attach proof of qualification. Good personal and communication skills. Supervisory Skills. Proficient in at least two of the three official languages in the Western Cape (English, Afrikaans & IsiXhosa). Attention to Detail Experience: 2 Years relevant experience in an electrical environment. |
