Introduction
Job Purpose:
Co-ordinates and controls the development and maintenance of parks, public open spaces, and road reserves in Breede Valley Municipality through the application of laid down procedures.

Duties:
Designing of parks and irrigation layout plans. Develop and manage major and minor improvement projects for and other landscape areas including reviewing plans and inspecting construction development sites. Planning the scheduled maintenance activities, such as planting, watering, irrigation schedules, layouts, road reserves, irrigation, mowing and removal, pruning, weeding, fertilizing, spraying etc. Interacting with the immediate superior to establish and confirm priorities and, transporting personnel to specific sites, issuing materials and/ or equipment and detailing requirements. Co-ordinates the work of employees engaged in the maintenance of parks, road reserves, irrigation, and landscapes. Inspection of parks, open spaces, road reserves, irrigation and reporting specific maintenance requirements to the immediate superior. Evaluating and correcting deviations or non-compliance with safety and standard operating procedures and/or investigating, establishing, and reporting causes of accidents and/or incidents. Obtain quotations and arrange for the repair and damages of defects on parks, including park furniture (play equipment, benches etc.). Monitor and evaluate contractors on work performance. Ensure that tractors, ride on mowers, walk behinds brush cutters, rain birds (irrigation pumps) are maintained and safely stored. Oversee the maintenance of parks, road reserves, irrigation, and open spaces. Monitor reported outcomes from specific tests and determining corrective measures. Investigating accidents/incidents with a view to accurately describing/detailing sequences to facilitate reporting/updating of registers and records. Reporting and seeking approval and guidelines from the immediate superior and implementing adjustments Report on the outcomes of the activities. Resolving service-related disputes/ conflicts with the general public, informing the immediate superior on concerns/ issues or attending to routine complaints.
Requirements
Requirements:
Grade 12, National Certificate: Landscaping (NQF level 3), Code C1 and PrDP Driver’s license, Proven Supervisory skills, Good interpersonal and communication Skills, Be able to work independently, Proficient in at least 2 of the 3 official languages (English, IsiXhosa and Afrikaans) in the western Cape, Attention to detail.

Experience: 2 Years relevant experience.
