Introduction
Wembley College is a leading, English Medium, co-educational, independent school situated on a beautiful campus amongst the rolling hills of Greytown in the KwaZulu Natal Midlands. An hour from Pietermaritzburg and an hour from Ballito makes for an ideal ‘country school’ within easy striking distance of a Central Business District and the warm KwaZulu Natal coast. Founded in 1997, the school enters candidates for the Cambridge Examinations that are set externally and recognised worldwide.

In this role you will be responsible for leading Wembley College. A dynamic, self-motivated, ethically driven, and experienced school leader is required. Key Result Areas
Overall responsibility for strategic leadership of the school’s growth and development.

Deliver quality education, including:
•High literacy and numeracy standards.
•Ensure quality delivery of the Cambridge curriculum.
•Ensure the school inculcates the entrepreneurial mindset.
•Keep abreast of international educational innovations in SA and internationally.

Deliver the school’s financial and operational objectives, including:
•Manage the school budget.
•Achieved required learner occupancy
•Deliver and maintain high standard of school facilities.

Ensure good relationships with all stakeholders, including:
•Establish and sustain effective, positive relationships with all staff, learners, parents and the local community of Greytown and the Umvoti region.
•Be an active role player in the marketing of the school.
•Represent the school and Wembley Management with high ethical standards.

Effective staff management, including:
•Lead and manage academic and support staff in achieving the school’s academic and operational objectives.
•Establish an effective Senior Management Team at Wembley College.
•Manage performance reviews for all staff.
•Maintain high standards of professionalism.
•Creating a high-performance culture.
•Take an active role in staff development.
•Support the development and maintenance of whole school policies and practices to ensure consistent application thereof.

Requirements
Skills, Qualifications and Experience required
•A Degree from a recognized tertiary institution and PGCE.
•5 to 10 years’ experience in schools, preferably at a senior management level within the independent school sector. Experience in leading a Boarding school would be an advantage.
•Cambridge experience will be an advantage.
•Computer literate.
•Compliant with all regulatory requirements (e.g., SACE, clean record)
•Ability to lead and make decisions.
•Ability to self-manage and manage risks responsibly.
•Management and implementation skills.
•Strong work ethic with the ability to take own initiative.
•Passion/Commitment.
•Solution orientated bias.
•Ability to perform under pressure and show tenacity.
•Team player.
•Have a desire to participate fully in the social, cultural and extra mural programme.
