•Provide support to Senior Consultants and Associates when required by the various projects within the team.
•Projects: - Involvement in Environmental Services projects including Basic Assessments, Scoping and EIA’s, Monitoring, Strategies and Plans etc.; as well as appropriate specialist work in line with academic qualification and vocational experience. Project involvement will include both a support and management role at the discretion of relevant senior staff members.
•Support: Undertaking all required project activities which may include field work, travel, project research, reporting, assisting with stakeholder engagement, environmental monitoring, client, authority and stakeholder related liaisons.
•To monitor financial performance within the division at a project level.
•Monitoring cost and revenues allocation to projects. He / she will work directly with Project Managers, Bid Managers and Divisional Directors to support them in delivering projects on time and within budget by providing timeous financial reports on projects.
•Provide Commercial /Financial sign off to confirm accuracy and compliance with process and policy. Actively strive to reduce DSO and ensure financial governance within Project Accounting.
•The incumbent would ideally have had significant experience in all or some of the requirements as noted below which are core to our business:
•Project set up, maintenance, reporting and closure
•Ensure that each project is funded in accordance with signed contracts
•Covert bid to project
•Generate PO number and update PO register
•Analyse all project costs, ensuring the correct allocation of such costs, taking action to correct any misallocated items
•Work with Project Managers in updating “forecast cost to completion” on projects on a periodic basis
•Develop robust project financial projection in conjunction with the Project Manager for each period end, as well as for annual budgets and quarterly forecasts on Project level
•Ensure a valid finance summary is available for projects within the division.
•Monitoring project financial performance against budget and identify potential Variation Orders and Scope Creep
•Review Cost/revenue variations on projects and report reasons for change
•Perform variance analysis of actual performance against budget/forecast and provide business reasons for variances
Planning and Schedule Control:
•Preparation of Schedule and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) in line with Project Managers’ project plan, contract and system requirements.
•Assist in preparation of financial forecasts for bids.
Billings and Collections:
•Track unbilled costs
•Produce invoice schedules
•Monitor cash flow and expedite aged debt directly with debtors’ control
•Confer with Receivables staff regarding unpaid contract billings
•Actively monitor and co-ordinate efforts to reduce DSO within the business area
•Ensure compliance with Business Management System through the life cycle of the project
•Internal project audit
• Provide details for external audit
•Regular reporting to Project Managers and Divisional Directors, including but not limited to:
•Review and update of WIP schedule each period
•Monitor and report on projects
•Review and update of aged debt reports, outlining key actions
•Monitor and report on projects with high level of WIP
•Report financial risks and opportunities on projects
•Co-ordination of in-month review data from Project Managers

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
•Degree or other relevant academic qualification (Business & Financial/Accounting/Commercial) would be advantageous OR 5 years ‘experience in Project Accounting
•CIMA would be advantageous
•Candidates would have the relevant project and financial experience, preferably within a commercial of financial background
•Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (Intermediate to Advanced)
•Sound knowledge and relevant experience of ERP systems.

•The successful candidate will be commercially conscious, detail orientated and able to offer commercial guidance and support to directors, project and bid managers, having an advanced knowledge of WSP systems, processes and policies
