To provide efficient Payroll administration service and HR support through the processing and administration of the company’s payroll.

•Responsible for the preparation and processing of the monthly payroll for approximately 900 employees on the Sage 300 payroll system (This includes the entire cycle of payroll processing from capturing of new employees, leave, terminations etc.
•Review and ensure accuracy of approved advances, travel and overtime claims;
•Responsible for the coordination between payroll and human resources, to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data
•Maintain employee records; ensure that employee changes are entered correctly and made on a timely basis; review changes for proper authorization.
•Generating reports for payments e.g. PAYE returns and other third parties
•Maintain a proper document control system
•Keep abreast with company policies and tax legislations that impact on remuneration
•Communicate payroll changes to the Payroll Manager and on time
•Apply for tax directives where necessary
•Submitting all medical aid and pension fund applications, after checking that all required information has been received, and following up where necessary for outstanding information.
•Maintenance of Medical Aid schedules, recons and payments.
•Third party schedules, payments, Send payment schedules to the relevant persons.
•Process loans/ advances and staff purchases in line with company policies.
•Follow up on outstanding claims, assist with home loans applications.
•Maternity administration (UIF forms, maintaining dates)
•Issuing certificate of service and UIF documents to all terminated employees
•Handle payroll and other general enquiries appropriately
•Maintain accurate and current data on the payroll system
•Creating and maintaining employee files and ensuring that all required documentation is received and filed.
•Support the delivery of efficient payroll service
•Resolve employee queries.
•Print and issue payslips
•All ad hoc administration functions.
•Ensure payroll protocols are maintained always

•Maintain and verify the payroll system
Qualifications and Experience:
Payroll administration certificate
Qualification in HR or related field
At least 3-years’ payroll experience
3 years’ experience on Sage 300 (People payroll system)
Skills and Knowledge:
Superior telephone etiquette
Good people skills
Strong computer literacy especially in Microsoft applications
Good knowledge of general administrative processes
Good understanding of key HR processes and practices
Good understanding of payroll systems and processes (Sage VIP, ESS)
Solid understanding of relevant legislation i.e. BCEA, UIF
