We are looking for a suitably qualified person to work as an Emergency Response Coordinator (Shelter/ Wash)

•Line management of emergency project staff;
•Adherence to the company policies, guidance and procedures;
•Contribute to the Emergency Response strategy development, which may include Livelihood, Shelter and WASH sectors, project proposals and provide input on needs and gaps;
•Manage and implement delegated portfolio of emergency projects (activities, budget and project documentation) as delegated from the Emergency Manager in line with proposals, strategies and donor requirements, and ensure high technical quality;
•Provide regular progress reports to Emergency Manager;
•Ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need of protection, explore and asses new and better ways to assist;
•Promote and share ideas for improvement and necessary changes in the activities;
•Ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer key skills;
•Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders;
•Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy; Specific responsibilities these responsibilities shall be adapted to the particularities of the job location and context, phase of operation, strategic focus and type of programme intervention.
•This section shall be revised whenever a new employee is hired or the context changes significantly.
•Line Management. Responsible for the direct line management of Emergency project team.
•Project & Budget Management. Under the supervision of the Emergency Manager, responsible for the successful delivery of LFS, Shelter, WASH, Emergency Response or related activities implemented through direct delivery or partner-led approaches. This includes responsibility for managing assigned project budgets, and the regular review of targets, vs. actual, budgets and workplans. Implementation modalities may include both in kind and cash/vouchers interventions.2 3. Strategy Development. Support the Emergency Manager and Specialist in developing and/or revising the Core Competency Strategies for LFS, Shelter and WASH by providing Area-level analysis and recommendations for needs and response options.
•Technical Support. Providing technical support and leadership to partners and communities implementing LFS, Shelter, WASH, Emergency Response or related activities. This includes ensuring compliance with relevant minimum standards and collaborative engagement with the Emergency Specialist in developing minimum technical standards, SOPs and guidance.
•Partnerships. Work in collaboration with the Manager to identify and develop strategic partnerships and assess the performance of the company’s existing partners involved in Emergency Response or related activities using the company’s partnership Framework.
•Assessments. In collaboration with the Manager overseeing assessments undertaken by the company or partners for Emergency Response or related activities. Assessments may be emergency-focused, Sector-Specific, Multi-Sector Assessments, Market Assessments, etc.
•M&E. delivery of project Monitoring and Evaluation for the company and partner-led Shelter, WASH, Emergency Response or related activities; in accordance with agreed minimum standards. M&E systems should be developed in collaboration with Manager and Specialist, M&E team, and Team leader. Monitoring and Evaluations may be emergency-focused, Sector-Specific, Multi-Sector Assessments, Market Monitoring, etc.
•Accountability. Responsibility for ensuring adequate accountability to affected populations, as per the company policies and the requirements of management, for Shelter, WASH, Emergency Response or related activities.
•Coordination. When delegated by the Manager responsibilities for representing the company in Area-level coordination of Shelter, WASH, Emergency Response or related activities in both formal coordination mechanisms and through bilateral (peer) coordination. This includes responsibility for operational coordination, inter-agency reporting of achievements, and Area-level strategy discussions. Where required, support engagement and coordination with Consortium partners.
•Minimum 4 years of experience of project implementation in humanitarian/recovery contexts;
•Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts;
•Technical Shelter, WASH and Emergency Response expertise;
•Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities;
•Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile;
•Fluency in Portuguese and English, both written and verbal;
•Valid driver’s license

Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile:
•Knowledge of the context in Cabo Delgado;
•Experience with start-up, exit or similar;
