Core purpose of the role
The main purpose of this role is to co-ordinate and plan efficient movement and clearance of shipments in accordance with procedures and documentation compliance.

Key deliverables and out puts

1.Responsible to co-ordinate the movement of cargo in line with the agreed SOP’s and in line with mandatory requirements.
2.Maintain solid relationships with shipping lines and airlines
3.Support Customs department to ensure all documentation required by statutory bodies like Port Health, State Vet, SAPS, NRCS etc. are
provided in time to avoid delays in clearances
4.Cargo Dues to be paid in time to avoid penalties
5.Liase with the Transport Desk for correct transporter provider selections
6.Update milestones timeously to ensure status reports pull through accurate information
7.Follow operational procedures in line with Audit standards outlined ensuring compliancy is met.
8.Ensure company KPI performance objectives are achieved to ensure profitability and sustainability.
9.Effective, professional, continuous, pro-active communication to the Customer Service Team with sound solutions to exceed client’s
10.To manage and facilitate channel smartcoms effectively within the team and provide full support and team-spirit.
11.Attendance to all queries relating to the clearance and delivery of shipments timeously to ensure there is no risk to the business.
12.Communicate any concerns or risk to management.

•Min 2 - 3 years freight forwarding experience, specifically Import Forwarding and Incoterms.
