•Collaborates with teams and departments across Plennegy to assess near- and long-term network and systems capacity needs, and/or enhancements to improve network and system infrastructure to support the digital transformation to the cloud.
•Implements firewall and core switching configuration changes as needed to support new platform connections. This includes updating firewall rules, establishing or configuring Virtual Private Networks (VPN), updating routing tables, creating Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN), and troubleshooting network routing and connectivity issues.
•Designs and deploys company Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs), Telephony and wireless networks, including servers, routers, switches, and other hardware to fulfil business objectives.
•Works with hardware vendors as needed to troubleshoot, upgrade or replace server or network hardware.
•Builds, deploys and administers Window Servers and Linux OS.
•Ensures data protection and overall integrity through documented and tested backup strategies and disaster recovery plans.
•Utilizes best practices in maintenance of the network, servers, telephony and other platforms, ensuring overall security. Participates in audit remediation processes, as required.
•Creates and maintains technical and user documentation, network diagrams as project artefact and knowledge share with peers/members of Information Technology.
•Monitors and tests network performance and provides network performance statistics and reports to management.
•Participates in meetings and performs other duties as assigned by management.
•Strong problem-solving skills in areas of Routing and Switching, access control list/network address translation (ACL/NAT), Virtual LAN (VLAN), Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), and Network Access Control (NAC). Possesses Medium-scale WAN experience; solid grasp of border gateway protocol (BGP), open shortest path first (OSPF), multiprotocol label switching (MPLS), hot standby router protocol (HSRP), IP security (IPSEC), content delivery network (CDN), Software Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) and related networking concepts.
•Experience with Jira or similar platform for service requests, incident and change management in an ITIL driven environment.
•Must be comfortable and experienced with Palo Alto firewalls as it relates to VPN, Perimeter Network, ACLs, NAT and Internal LAN.
•Experience as a hands-on network administrator with the following equipment/technologies:
•WAN/LAN Protocols and connections
•Hybrid Cloud Integration Connectivity
•Session Border Controllers
•Systems security, patching and vulnerability remediation
•Ability to implement simple solutions that are “fit for purpose” (fulfill business needs), “fit for use” (available when needed) and a “right fit” (fits the size and complexity of Plennegy).
•Strong business writing, collaboration, communication and presentation skills.
•Exposure to Cloud Technologies, Office 365, Azure, AWS or Similar.
•Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS.
•Strong verbal communication skills.
•Strong service and team spirit.
