Main purpose of the job
To provide facilities maintenance and general maintenance services to the University

Main tasks
1. Ensure implementation and monitoring of maintenance processes and systems in line with University requirements and relevant legislation
2. Oversee the provision of maintenance services
3. Manage the service desk function
4. Manage the provision of contract management services
5. Manage projects for the unit
6. Develop, manage & implement a budget for the unit
7. Ensure submission of reports
8. Ensure Effective & efficient Contracts Management

Minimum Qualification/ Knowledge and/or Experience

•B Tech or Bachelor’s degree in the fields of Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil or Built environment) or Project Management
•5 to 6 years related experience
•Valid Code B driver’s license
•Computer and financial literacy
•Comprehensive working knowledge of a range of legislation impacting on the University e.g. LRA, BBBEE, BCE, OHS Act
•Comprehensive working knowledge of building and construction codes and regulations

Desired Qualification/ Knowledge and/or Experience

•Qualification in facilities management
•6 to 10 years related experience, of which at least 2 years’ experience in Facilities maintenance management will be an advantage
