Applications are invited for the above-mentioned position. The position will be based in Western Cape, Stellenbosch, which includes remote working. The individual will report to the Head of Fibre.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The Cost Accountant will be responsible for the accurate accounting of cost and resources to fibre construction projects.

Key Responsibility Areas:
•Applying principles of cost accounting to conduct studies that provide detailed cost information not supplied by general accounting systems.
•Planning, studying, and collecting data to determine the cost of business activities.
•Analysing data obtained and recording of results.
•Analysing actual costs and prepares periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual costs.
•Recording cost information for use in controlling expenditures.
•Compiling cost information to be used in operating budget preparation.
•Making estimates of new and proposed product or service costs.
•Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.
The successful candidate must have the following experience/skills: -
•Experience working in manufacturing, construction, or agricultural cost accounting environment is preferred.
•At least 3-5 years experience in a Cost and Management Accountant role or similar.
•Experience working with NetSuite or SAP will be advantageous.
•Understanding of construction and/or manufacturing processes.
•Understanding of costing methodologies – standard costing, absorption costing, etc.
•Strong financial analysis skills.
•Ability to prepare financial reports and give recommendations based on available data.
•Superior knowledge of financial reporting software tools and ERP software.
•Ability to perform risk and security assessments.
•In-depth knowledge of financial guidelines and regulations.
•Excellent attention to detail.
•Effective communication, including writing, speaking, and active listening.
•Collaboration and teamwork.
•Relevant BCom Degree or BTech in Cost Accounting or Accounting.
•CIMA Certification will be advantageous.
