Specification
The Operations Manager is responsible for the effective management and control of the following departments, functions and processes:

Growth & Budget
•Coordinate the identification of projects for consideration within the region
•Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews
•Develop operations systems by determining workflow process within the project, and between teams
•Manage and report to the Growth Manager on budget items in accordance with approved projects, or out of budget expenses
•Monthly expense on charging review from Branch to Herotel NSO per project
•Stock procurement process – Quotes, Purchases orders, Invoices, etc.
•Staff administration – oversight on salaries and wages and cost allocation per project

Operational Management
•Full responsibility to ensure the Growth team runs operationally smoothly, thus ensuring that the network infrastructure, field operations, sales, marketing, stock, fleet are all kept up to date in the various stages of projects.
•Report to the Regional Growth Manager on financial, technical and operational aspects.
•Support Project Managers by facilitating staff recruitment, on-boarding and administration via Workforce, in conjunction with HR.
•Work closely with the inventory manager and team to perform analysis of our inventory and ensure we are utilising our inventory effectively, purchasing the right equipment, maintaining solid inventory data and reduce sub-rental expenses
•Communicate all operating policies and/or issues at department meetings
•Provide inspired leadership for the organisation.
•Assist with important policy, planning, and strategy decisions.
•Develop, implement and review operational policies and procedures.
•Information management between network and branch – planned projects, build in progress, live areas.
•Support Project Managers with all administrative tasks and planning

Network Build
•Support project submissions – together with responsible team members
•Project deployment – BOQ materials - National Supplier procurement, via NSO Netsuite
•Project deployment – BOQ materials – Local Supplier procurement, via Branch Netsuite
•Confirmation of receipt of stock, proof of delivery and invoices to be submitted to NSO & Branch
•Tracking of project progress to ensure effective planning and communication amongst teams
•Management of MDU process and teams - network builds within MDU’s (submission of costing, in accordance with Planning BOQ, and within Herotel guidelines)
•Weekly updates to relevant teams on project status.

Network Installations
•Oversee the preparation of network ‘live’ maps for sales & installations and final as-built drawing packages to be submitted to NSO for Herotel coverage map update.
•Manage communication and release of ‘live’ area’s on the network and MDU’s – for Sales & Scheduling to work from.
•Ensure communications between network splicing team, the HUB NOC and Helpdesk for ‘As Installed’ details in the DC
•Effective inter team communication and workflow e.g. planning, deployment, splicing, branch team for home installs.

Staff Management and Training
•Company relevant training through suppliers
•OHS training for Growth teams - bookings and payments
•Training – Herotel SOP’s per various teams
•Accurate and timely weekly/monthly reporting
•Code of conduct and high standard of ethics towards staff
•Support performance review process on 6-monthly basis with Growth team
•Help promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
•Support worker communication with the management team.

Culture and Values
•Support and coordinate the Regional Growth Manager in implementing and promoting the official HeroTel culture and values in the Growth team
Requirements

•At least 3 years' experience in operations management.
•At least 2 years business / sales experience.
•Experience managing in a WISP Environment preferred
•Working knowledge of Microsoft office products.
•Good planning skills, with ability to oversee multiple projects
•Basic accounting understanding – costings, cost allocations, budgets
•Stock procurement experience
•Stock control
•Resource allocation for various project tasks, between projects
•Strong work-flow assessment and critical thinking
•Risk management on project milestones (across all tasks)
•Technical knowledge of fibre networks and build process’s
•Strong team player, influencing and leading
•Relevant ICT/business/operations qualification is a requirement
