Our opportunity: Liabilities Specialist

The incumbent is responsible for effectively attending to third party claims to determine the validity of said claims by ensuring that they are not inflated and attend to attorney matters.

Key Accountabilities

Functional Management

•Attending to 30 files per day i.e. correspondence and telephone calls
•Attending to Liabilities to ensure maximum savings
•Reporting on Liability Stats
•Ensuring compliance to the payment process by the department
•Attending to Diary once a month
•Follow-up on outstanding information and documentation
•Update System in respect of payments
•Load and process payments on system
•Attendance of staff meetings
•Preparation for staff meetings
•Update and maintain the Liabilities Register
•Assist the Head of Recoveries with various matters
•When a colleague is on leave to assist with that person’s workflow
•Appoint assessors where necessary
•Negotiate best settlement options available
•Check all the required documents are sent by the TP’s
•Any other duties that may be required

Stakeholder Management
Stakeholders include:

•Liasing with the Claims Department in respect of liability matters in order to ensure that we attend to all liability appraoches sent to Bryte Specialist Motor.

•Liasing with the Finance Department in respect of the monies receipted and invoicing of section 2 excess payments and other ad hoc invoices.

•Liaising with the Underwriting Department in confirmation of the vehicles and excesses that are noted on policies in order to ensure that correct claim registered, and the correct excesses are applied. Providing reports on an Ad hoc basis as requested by Underwriting.

Qualifications & Experience

•Computer literate
•1 years experience in Liabilities or similar field
•Matriculation/ Equivalent
•Knowledge of office administrative procedures
