BDO South Africa has a vacancy for a suitable qualified and experienced Manager. Reporting as part of the Business Services Outsourcing team.
The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of engagement types, including Annual Accounting, Compilations and Independent Reviews. All parts of the BDO Annual work team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle the appointed engagements to enable BDO to deliver sustainable growth .
Actively leads engagement teams, provides technical support to clients and junior engagement staff. Drive strategic operational imperatives. Supports Senior Manager and Associate Director to co-ordinate and administer general Financial and operational functions within BSA. Offer continuous support to Management and other staff members within the team. Provides advice, guidance and direction to line management and employees in respect of all strategic objectives and processes, policies and procedures. Promote client business development and assist Directors/Partners in winning new business.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
•Provides input into the formulation of strategy and ensure implementation of the BDO business strategy, and related business concept of that are implemented and supported at a national level.
•Develops a business plan and internal processes to support the strategy.
•Implements the strategy supported by the adequate staff, projects planning and completed projects, effective resource planning and utilisation to reach fulfilment of service and business requirements.
•Develops and maintains the client relationship through communication, listening and responsiveness
•Implement and follow standard operating procedures and quality process manuals to ensure engagements meet the required standards. Provide feedback on areas of improvement
•Delivers clear and coherent messages to the Business and other stakeholders on quantitative issues and reviews
•Business Development: 24 hour response time to all client enquiries; forward client queries for proposals to Senior Manager and Associate Director
•Cross-selling of other BDO services to current clients
•Mentors junior staff and leads team in own area of expertise as required during the course of a model review project or through internal training initiatives.
•Write thought leadership commentary/blogs and technical articles for BDO or participates in interviews and panel discussions representing BDO
•Maintains required Continuous Professional Development as prescribed by the Professional Body
•Identify areas of own improvement and engage with Senior Manager and/or Associate Director to upskill and improve through various internal or external training and development initiatives
-B.Com Accounting Degree
-Completed professional training contract with either SAICA or SAIPA
-SAICA: AGA (SA)
-SAICA: CA(SA) qualified or
-SAIPA: Professional Accountant (SA)
•At least 4 years’ experience post articles, of which at least 2 years is in a BDO supervisory role
•Thorough understanding of:
