Botswana Ash (Pty) Ltd is a Soda Ash and Salt producing Company situated on the Sua Pan in Botswana, approximately 180 km by tarred road northwest of Francistown. The Company employs over 450 employees of which close to 300 are unionised. Employees and their families live in Sowa Town, about 20 km east of the factory. The town boasts excellent English medium pre-primary, primary and secondary schools as well as government run primary and junior secondary schools. In addition, there is a company run private clinic for Botash employees at the factory as well as a private clinic and a government run clinic at the township. Recreational facilities include tennis and squash courts, swimming pools, recreation clubs as well as an 18- hole browns golf course.

MAIN FUNCTION OF THE JOB
To ensure a healthy company workforce in order to enhance organisational effectiveness through delivery of a comprehensive and robust Occupational Health Management system that is aligned with current legislation and Company policies and procedures.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (KPA’s)
These KPA’s are a summary of the tasks that the incumbent will normally perform. However, the incumbent may be required to perform other tasks from time to time that fall within or below the decision band of the job.
•Planning, Budgeting and Cost Control
•Safety, Health, Environment & Quality
•Occupational Health Management
•Primary Health Care Management
•MBChB/MBBS/MD or any other recognised medical degree
•Diploma in Occupational Health Medicine
•Master’s degree in Health Administration will be an added advantage
•Minimum Five (5) years relevant experience with medical and surgical
Legal Certification/ Professional Registration:
•Registered with the Botswana Health Professional Council or any recognised international body.
