The incumbent will be responsible for the draughting of all plans within the Mining Department to meet the quality and standards of the mine survey discipline at Swakop Uranium Mine.

Key Performance Areas:
•Draw plans and sketches as requested by other departments.
•File the plans on the database, backup in accordance to the accepted draughting standards and conventions.
•Update the statutory plans and submit them to the Ministry of Mines on an annual basis as required.
•Update quarterly Tailing Service Facilities profile plans timeously.
•Attend daily mining production meetings and attend to the meeting actions / requests on time.
•Draw plans for blast hole blocks and loading composite.
•Ensure the signed off plans are filed and kept in a logical order.
•Update of the blast blocks-, composites block- and presplits plans.
•Assist the planning section with the updating of the monthly mining plans.
•Interact with Geology and Mine Planning Sections to ensure that seamless Data integration takes place without data loss.
•Determine volumetric data for planning purposes and assist planning section with dumps-, roads- and stockpile designs.
•Plot the positions of all the slope stability monitoring targets on the hazards plan.
•Update the pit hazard plan as required by the Geotechnical Department.
•Initiate Purchase Requests and Special Work Orders and get the best possible price for items needed.
•Check that the survey back-ups and filing is up to date and update the survey Data Base.
•Notify surveyors of areas to be surveyed to update the statutory plan.
•Check that there is sufficient stationary and that stock levels are maintained at all times.
•Check that the Survey Office Printer, Plotter and Scanning devices are maintained and are always in good working order.
•Control and have general responsibility over survey storage area and survey consumables.

Requirements and experience:
•Grade 12 with a Certificate in Mine Survey Draughting /Elementary Mine Surveying.
•At least 3 years’ experience as a mine survey draughtsperson.
•Working knowledge on CAD or related draughting software.
•Be able to draw mining diagrams.
•Knowledge of pit limits and bench cuts.
•Previous experience in an opencast mining environment and slope stability monitoring will be an added advantage.
•Code “B” Driver’s License.
