Ensure adherence to all requirements to ensure Medihelp’s accreditation as an FSP.

Liaise with Medihelp’s external Compliance Officer (Moonstone) and chair compliance meetings.

Assist with the development and implementation of a legal compliance monitoring and audit programme.

Provide compliance reporting to the Board and its committees.

Stay abreast of changes to the legal and business landscape.

Annually reviewing and drafting changes to all Scheme policies.

Review, implement, monitor and report on the Scheme’s compliance with all approved policies, report on the measures implemented to address any issues of non-compliance, and maintain the Policy Compliance Checklist and Review Schedule during the process to approve and implement policies.

Maintain relevant governance controls, including relevant compliance checklists and controls.

Identify, correct and report on compliance failures in general.

Assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of all registers and databases relating to the Scheme’s governance.

Assist with the daily maintenance and annual review of the Scheme’s document retention system.

Monitor medical scheme, healthcare and related policy and legislative changes, and facilitate the implementation of these changes by the Scheme and its service providers by proactively advising the affected and responsible business units of the impact thereof, and by supporting workshops and implementation forums in respect thereof.

Develop, review and maintain the Scheme’s Legislation Compliance Register and the Legislation Compliance Checklist for purposes of monitoring and reporting on the Scheme’s and its service providers’ compliance with all applicable pertinent legislation.

Attend and provide legal and compliance related inputs at the quarterly Governance and Compliance Forum meetings as and when required.

Monitor, review, distribute and ensure the implementation of circulars, notices, directives, reports and documents of the Council for Medical Schemes, and maintain the relevant compliance checklists.

Assist with the facilitation of the annual audit reviews by the Scheme’s internal auditors pertaining to the Scheme’s legislative, Rules and policy compliance.

A relevant LLB degree

Six (6) years’ relevant experience in a medical scheme or relevant industry environment.

Qualify to serve as a Key Individual.

Must possess a valid driving licence.

Knowledge of the following:

Medical Schemes Act and Regulations;



Risk management principles;

Compliance management;

Data analysis;

Corporate governance principles; and

General business principles, including IT, marketing and human resources.

Must possess the following skills:

Quality orientated;

Effective decision making;

Presentation and report writing skills; and

Well organised.
