The Aurum Institute is offering a great opportunity to suitably qualified and experienced staff to contribute towards our mission to improve the health of people and communities through innovation in Health Research and Systems. We are focused on research, support and implementing integrated approaches to managing TB and HIV. The following positions have become available as part of the various projects currently being run by us and you are welcome to apply should you meet the requirements of the position.
•As part of the implementation of 3HP in South Africa, we will conduct a qualitative and quantitative study (CHIP-TB) to assess whether integrated community-based pediatric TB/HIV prevention services are feasible, acceptable and effective in increasing TPT uptake among child TB contacts of under 15 years in Nkangala district, Mpumalanga.
•Technical Work Responsibilities
•Coordinate and engage with health facility management to support the research activity
•Confirm eligibility of participants using the Eligibility Form.
•Performs consent discussion, obtain consent with participant, and assign Study ID for consented participant according to the SOP of the study.
•Maintaining respectful interactions with participants
•Abstract clinical data and perform data entry into the database
•Complete and/or review completion of study related logs, checklists, and informed consent forms.
•Properly manage study documents as per ethical and research standard
•Perform periodic visit to households to check the community intervention is per standard/ protocol,
•Perform home visit to clients enrolled to community intervention
•Perform a regular site visit to control site and assist health care providers at the health facilities and in the community.
•Strictly follow all procedures of data quality and ethical requirements as per the protocol
•Participate in community/stakeholders’ sensitization training/workshop/orientation.
•Share daily/weekly report with the study coordinator.
•Carry out additional assignment as required.
•Relevant Bachelor’s Degree
•Registration with South African Nursing Council as a professional nurse
•Having a GCP course and Human Protection course is an advantage
•Knowledge of TB diagnosis, treatment, and care guidelines
•At least 3 years’ experience, primarily in the field of health research in an international organization, preferably on TB/TB-HIV;
•Minimum 6 months’ experience in MS Office package experience
•Working with staff in public healthcare facilities
•Skill on data quality control and quality assurance
•Experience in clinical research will be an advantage.
•Community outreach activities will be an advantage
•Providing written and electronic reports will be an advantage.
•Valid Driver’s license

•Proficient in written and spoken English and fluency in local languages in Nkangala district, Mpumalanga.
