NACOSA is a USAID funded DREAMS partner focused on implementing community mobilization and norms change interventions. NACOSA seeks to employ Community Facilitators based in Gauteng that will deliver evidence-based interventions to beneficiaries aged 15-24 years.

NACOSA is a network of over 2,500 civil society organisations working together to turn the tide on HIV, AIDS, TB and GBV in Southern Africa. NACOSA promotes dialogue, builds capacity with accredited training, mentoring and technical assistance and channels resources to support service delivery on the ground, particularly among children and youth, key populations and women and girls.

The Determined, Resilient, Empowered, Aids-free, Mentored and Safe (DREAMS) programme provides a comprehensive package of core interventions to address key factors that make adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) particularly vulnerable to HIV. These include structural factors, such as gender-based violence, exclusion from economic opportunities, and a lack of access to secondary school.
DREAMS layers multiple interventions at once so that AGYW are surrounded with critical support to keep them safe from HIV and other risks.

NACOSA is implementing the No Means No Worldwide Girls and Stepping Stones intervention program under the DREAMS program. Successful candidates will undergo extensive training in the evidence-based programs listed above.
- Be expected to participate in 2-week training (full days, M-F) to learn the evidence-based curricula and prevention interventions
- Have knowledge of youth program recruitment strategies and be able to effectively engage with youth aged 15-24 years.
- Reside in sub-districts A-G of the City of Johannesburg and willing to travel within sub-districts
- Facilitate group- based interventions such as the No means No Girls program curriculum with out of school girls aged 15-19 years and the Stepping Stones Curriculum with 20 to 24-year-old females and males.
- Able to engage stakeholders effectively and communicate program needs clearly and concisely
- Ability to meet deadlines and work within a target-driven environment
- Be an ambassador for the DREAMS programme, NACOSA and woman and children’s rights
- Contribute to the development of a comprehensive referral network of prevention and aftercare resources and providers i.e. socio-economic,
medical, legal, etc.
- Conduct and collect basic M&E data from participants
- Liaise with local child safety, gender-based violence organizations, stakeholders, government sources, other DREAMS partners and schools to ensure active linkages and layering of services.
