The incumbent would be responsible for finance and reporting at a group level - set the tone for ensuring accurate financial reporting. To manage the accounting function, including planning, budgets and forecasts, interpreting financial results, monitoring cash flow, capital expenditure programmes, management reporting systems development, special investigations/reports, operating efficiency studies, feasibility studies and investment portfolios. To prepare and interpret management information.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the key performance areas include but are not limited to:

1.Governance, Risk & Compliance
-Ensuring that the financial processes in place are adequate and well maintained throughout the eMedia group of companies.
-Ensuring that the internal controls are well managed throughout the e-Media group of companies. This includes continuous review of controls and the improvement thereof.
-Preparing quarterly financial reports encompassing financial results as well as commentary on the results, for presentation to the board of directors.
-Assisting the CFO with any ad hoc reports and functions, including monthly analysis of various key business units’ results.
-Consulting with relevant business stakeholders.

2.Business Planning, Capex & Budgeting
-Coordinating the full financial function of the e-family group of companies and management of all staff falling under the finance department (15 employees).
-Reviewing and authorising monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all entities listed above.
-Preparing monthly Finance Reports including departmental variance analysis versus budgets for review by executives.
-Preparing budgets and forecasts for presentation to the CFO and Board of Directors. These are reviewed on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
-Preparing the business plans for new ventures entered into by the group, in conjunction with the various business stakeholders concerned.
-Planning, executing and managing the yearend audit for the eMedia group of companies, as well as the internal audit of those companies.
-Reviewing and authorising monthly payments for supplier invoices.
-Reviewing and Implementing of the new broadcasting management systems for the entity.

3.Training & Development
-Assisting with the financial accountants within the eMedia group of companies with any queries.
-Ensuring all staff are trained on latest versions of accounting software packages.

4.Financial Reporting
-Reviewing and updating budgets and forecasts.
-Analysing financial reports.
-Reviewing consolidations.
-Preparing and reviewing Management reports and board-packs. Reviewing Financial/ variance analyses.
-Implementing controls and procedures.

5.Specialised Support
-Providing specialised technical / professional support to internal and external stakeholders to ensure achievement of functional and organisational objectives.

6. Monitor Compliance
-Monitoring and ensuring adherence to statutory regulations, organisational standards, policies and procedures.
-Ensuring remedial actions is implemented timeously to address non-conformances.
-Ensuring effective and regular communication of new statutory regulations, organisational standards, policies and procedures to ensure full awareness amongst employees and contractors.

A relevant Finance Degree.
A relevant Post Graduate Diploma would be advantageous
Registered as a Chartered Accountant (South Africa)
A minimum of 5 years industry experience of which 2 years should be in a Managerial capacity
