This role works across different organisational departments. The Head of Product will undertake market research on new products, establishes timescales for developing products, influence pricing, ‘packaging’, product integration, go-to-market strategies, develop messaging and market positioning around products and partake in presentations and events. The key focus is to ensure that set-objectives of profitable growth and increase market share is achieved.
Through interviews, surveys, focus groups and data, gain insights into customer use of current products, untapped opportunities and buyer personas.
Gather market information and intelligence to keep abreast of competitor activities.
Devise business cases for new product development, product improvements, and maintenance initiatives.
Drive all product development, product integration and go-to-market as per strategy.
Own product definition, market needs analysis, viability, and product fit.
Characterize and qualify new and existing product development initiatives in terms of commercial viability, researched customer service requirements
Monitor product performance post deployment to ensure intended performance in terms of product functionality
Compile product strategy map(s).
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment, buy-in, training, etc. to ensure product success.
Resolve complaints/queries related to new products.
Manage projects associated with the development and product launch activities; incl. communicating the value proposition of the products to the sales teams and developing the sales tools that support the selling process of the products as well as planning the launch of new products and releases and managing the cross-functional implementation of the plan.
Collaborate with suppliers and manage necessary Service Level Agreements
Devise and managing pricing strategies at product level with due consideration of governance and compliance frameworks as well as market trends including analysis regarding settlement risks, credit and capital consumption.
Model various pricing scenarios and assessing impact on profitability, gross margin, revenues and sales to ensure optimal risk-based pricing for profit maximization.
Optimize revenue streams to minimize revenue leakages and product costs.
Analyze customer transaction behaviour to align pricing structures accordingly.
Benchmark pricing strategy against competitor pricing activity, identifying key opportunities, threats and implement changes.
Research innovative pricing solutions thereby ensuring best practice in our pricing models.
Ensure the on-going monitoring of the product cost structures and market penetration verses the cost of product delivery, and identification of potential growth opportunities.
Support EBS and Lending sales teams with all sales operation
Support the CCO in the
Act as a custodian of all sales processes across the business
Support EBS and Lending sales team in gathering relevant market and competitor insights
Provide sales coaching interventions for sales resources
Development and maintenance of sales enablement tools for different sales teams
Work with L&D in coordinating sales training materials and interventions for Business Development Managers, Regionals Sales, and Outbound Call Centre teams
Support EBS and Lending sales teams in developing sales presentations
Manage and oversee sales incentives and rewards programs
Support sales leadership in inculcating high performance culture within the different sales team
Oversee the development and maintenance of the sales playbook
Act as the custodian of the CRM system on behalf of the sales teams
Support sales leadership in the management of commission and sales remuneration across the different sales structures
Drive process improvements to streamline data collection and report generation.
Extract, verify, correct and analyze data for dashboard requirements and reports, to highlight actuals against business objectives and enable data driven business decisions regarding sales volumes, balances, etc.
Provide data driven analysis of the all products in order to effectively manage it, improve usage, reduce attrition, churn rates and other inefficiencies
Relevant degree in business
At least 8 years of product experience.
At least 5 years of management experience.
Proven track record in delivering new products to market profitably.
